2024 Hidden Block Pinot Noir

Hidden Block carries the most red fruit of the Spring Ridge pinot noir blocks and the wine feels like high summer, with juicy strawberry and cherry aromatics. The palate has a fine texture, with cocoa powder tannins and a precise and delicate rose petal finish.

2024 Home Block Chardonnay

Home Block is a dynamic chardonnay, its classic California expression tempered by a savory, saline, and mineral character. The fruit leans confectionery, like pineapple upside down cake or grilled peach - but with a sprinkle of flaky Maldon sea salt. The palate is luscious with vanilla and meringue, with a rich but zesty citrus finish of kumquat and satsuma.

2023 Home Block Chardonnay

Home Block Chardonnay shows depth, with an upfront richness of ice cream sundae or whipped cream, neatly balanced with the tang of pineapple and green papaya. The fruit is framed by a fine outline on the palate.

Amphitheater Chardonnay contains multitudes, with variations on citrus to begin: lemon meringue, sorbet, orange blossom. Floral qualities following that lead: jasmine and freesia. Juicy on the palate, but wonderfully chalky and slatey, without losing its irresistible fruit.

The aromatic profile of Upper Picnic Block Pinot Noir calls to mind different expressions of tea: ice tea, sun tea, rooibos, cranberry. On the palate, rose petal and graphite. The texture is neatly wound, delicate, and opens gracefully in the glass and will continue to with time.

In this relatively cooler vintage, Hidden Block Pinot Noir shows a more delicate expression of its reliably red fruit profile. Where we often find the fleshiest of strawberry and cherry, in this year, a brighter raspberry redness comes to mind. More savory characters underlie, providing a lovely contrast: lavender, mushroom pate, garam masala.
